Manuel "Manny" Ernesto DeJesus,
65, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. He is
survived by his wife, Migdalia DeJesus of Fayetteville;
mother, Carmen H. Rosado of Fayetteville, stepmother,
Irene DeJesus of Puerto Rico; sisters, Diana Meredith
and Gisela Benitez, both of Puerto Rico; daughter,
Evelyn Smith of Fayetteville, son, Manuel E. DeJesus Jr.
of Fayetteville; and daughter, Jillian Lees of Alaska.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alysia DeJesus,
Riley Smith and Aidan Smith, of Fayetteville; along with
numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. He was an
Army veteran of 27 1/2 He was preceded in death by his
father, Amilcar DeJesus; and stepfather, Emilio Rosado.
He was much loved and respected by his peers, associates
and lifelong friends from the 82nd Airborne Division
Association along with the active duty community.
The family will receive friends
from 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Rogers
and Breece Funeral Home, Ramsey Street, Fayetteville. A
memorial service will be held immediately following the
visitation at 7 p.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the 82nd Airborne Division
Association Educational Fund in memory of Manuel E.
DeJesus, P.O. Box 65089, Fayetteville, NC 28306. |
